mood ring

dusk: set down old sun to bid farewell

sparrow's soft silent flutter beats in this heavy gloom

and the world frets another hour to survive

my busy day succumbs to a dangerous quiet.

night: reflect on clouds that hide the no moon

natures nocturnal necrophilliacs howl o’er a kill

and agencies of the them trend out from control

my light flickers aching to blow free, but for a moment, to die.

dawn: turn again faithful machine of celestial rotation

mankind is made mighty in knowing the cocks crow

and church bells hail a tithe, a day another dollar

my face unslept, a whisper of life beams - arouse!

day: descend with sudden glory oh rose'nd torch

flowers and fruits scorch in after noon's drying heat

as students intent learn a chorus and strike middle c

my spirit ascends to meet the newness of today

brilliance: unity in another day recircled and spiraled

wild eager echos ever resound to fill canyons alive

as the whole of the we celebrates again in global days unending

my soul revive, in this vastness complete - I must be!
